WHAT

The Contra Costa County Council on Homelessness (CoH) seeks applicants to fill several open seats. This advisory board, appointed by the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors, provides a forum for the county’s homeless service providers to communicate and collaborate about strategies to prevent and end homelessness.

The council also educates the community about homelessness, advocates on policy affecting people who are homeless or at risk for homelessness, and establishes the local process for applying, reviewing and prioritizing project requests for funding in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Homeless Assistance Grant competitions.

WHO:

CoH seeks applicants who live or work in Contra Costa, and have these backgrounds:

• Community member, who must live or work in Contra Costa
• Faith community representative, who must be affiliated with Contra Costa’s faith community as an employee, volunteer or congregant
• Health Care representative, who must work in the healthcare field in Contra Costa

WHEN:

Members must attend a two-hour meeting on the first Thursday of each month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., as well as a quarterly, two-hour Continuum of Care meeting. Members are also expected to serve on one or more subcommittees. Meeting times and locations vary. Members serve renewable two-year terms.
