REMINDER: Public Meeting Nov. 3 to Discuss Contra Costa Mental Health Funding

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

WHAT

Contra Costa Behavioral Health, a division of Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS), invites anyone interested in improving local mental health services to participate in a public forum Thursday, Nov. 3, in Pleasant Hill.

The forum will help the county set its budget for state Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) funding for 2017-20.

Those interested in attending should RSVP no later than Wednesday, Nov. 2 at mhsa@hsd.cccounty.us or 925-957-5150.

WHO:

Ideas and advice are welcome from all members of the public, particularly providers, patients and their families.

A similar meeting is scheduled on Dec. 1 in Bay Point. Visit the “Latest Information” section at cchealth.org/mentalhealth/mhsa for details.

WHEN:

3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, at Pleasant Hill Community Center, 320 Civic Drive in Pleasant Hill.

WHY:

Contra Costa’s current MHSA budget, which ends in June 2017, will have provided about $41.6 million to more than 80 mental health programs, prioritized through a similar community planning process.

Forum goals include identifying service gaps and setting priorities for the next 3-year MHSA budget.

The same information will be provided at the Pleasant Hill and Bay Point forums, including an overview of how the MHSA works and how the funding is currently used in Contra Costa.
