Contra Costa County Announces Second Death Linked to H1N1

There has been a second flu death linked to H1N1 reported in Contra Costa County. A 48- year-old man from Contra Costa County passed away in December. It was confirmed Tuesday. No other information will be released about this case.

Who:

Erika Jenssen, Communicable Disease Programs Chief with Contra Costa Public Health, will be available for interviews today from 3 to 4 p.m.

Flu is unpredictable and flu season can last through March. Everyone should get a flu vaccine to protect themselves from the flu. It is not too late to get a vaccine. This year's vaccine protects against several flu strains including H1N1.
