West Contra Costa County celebrates new West County Health Center

New facility replaces county's aging Richmond Health Center

What:

The public is invited to the grand opening celebration today for Contra Costa Health Services' (CCHS) new state-of-the-art West County Health Center, which is scheduled to officially open its doors in about a month. The event will feature live music, refreshments and tours of the 53,000-square-foot, environmentally-friendly facility that replaces the aging Richmond Health Center built in the 1960s. The new $45 million facility is significantly larger with 58 exam rooms to help meet the demand for health care in West County and will continue to offer primary and specialty care, well-baby visits, immunizations, cardiology and other critical services.

The community is invited to the event, which includes speakers Congressman George Miller; Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia; CCHS Director Dr. William Walker; Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers Chief Executive Officer Anna Roth; Greg Feere, Building & Construction Trades Council; San Pablo Mayor Cecilia Valdez; and San Pablo City Manager Matt Rodriguez.
