Volunteers & Their Pets are Needed for a West County Shelter Exercise

What:

Volunteers are needed to participate in a Mass Care & Shelter exercise to help prepare local agencies to open, operate and manage a community shelter in West Contra Costa.

Volunteers, who should be at least 18 years old or be accompanied by an adult, will play the roles of displaced community members and shelter clients.

Any volunteers with pets are encouraged to bring their animals.

Lunch will be provided as part of the exercise and parking permits will not be required the day of the exercise.

When & Where:

The event will take place Tuesday, August 9, 2011 on the San Pablo Campus of Contra Costa College, 2600 Mission Bell Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Who:

The Contra Costa Community College District, Contra Costa County, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, and the Cities of Richmond and San Pablo have joined forces to conduct a Mass Care & Shelter exercise.
