Regional Launch of HHS National Partnership for Patients Friday morning at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez
New Initiative Funded by Affordable Care Act

New National Partnership for Patients
MARTINEZ — On Friday, HHS Region 9 Director Herb K. Schultz, Congressman George Miller and Contra Costa Regional Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Anna Roth, will join consumers, industry representatives, and other key health care stakeholders to highlight the historic reforms of the Affordable Care Act. The new initiative, Partnership for Patients, will help save 60,000 lives by stopping millions of preventable injuries and complications in patient care over the next three years, improving quality and containing costs.
Already, more than 1300 hospitals, as well as physicians and nurses groups, consumer groups, and employers have pledged their commitment to the new initiative. The Contra Costa Regional Medical Center event is one of more than a dozen taking place across the nation.
