Patient's Bill of Rights in the Affordable Care Act will stop the worst insurance company abuses.
Congressmen will be joined by Bay Area residents affected by the changes.
MARTINEZ, CA — This Monday, Reps. George Miller (D-Martinez) and John Garamendi (D-Walnut Creek) will be joined by area residents to announce major new health insurance consumer protections that will begin on or after September 23rd. The Affordable Care Act, approved by Congress and signed into law by President Obama this past March, ensures that all Americans will have access to affordable health care. Its many provisions are being implemented in phases. The Congressmen will encourage constituents to contact their insurance company regarding recent changes and will also highlight threats to the new benefits and protections by opponents of health care law.
