Seeking Public Comments on Priorities for Federal AIDS Funds in Contra Costa

What:

The public is invited to a public forum July 14 to provide comments, concerns and ideas on how federal funds should be spent in Contra Costa County for services to people living with HIV/AIDS. Written comments may also be submitted. All comments will be reviewed in the annual priority setting and funding allocation process. This is an opportunity for the community to share ideas about how best to deliver services to support access to care for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Who:

The Contra Costa HIV/AIDS Consortium is soliciting community comments. The Consortium is a local planning body that includes Contra Costa Health Services, HIV/AIDS service providers, HIV prevention providers, people living with HIV/AIDS and concerned community members.

When:

Verbal comments will be heard during the Consortium's public forum at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 14, at Hillcrest Community Church, 404 Gregory Lane, Pleasant Hill. Please rsvp for the forum by calling 925-313-6775. Written comments may be sent to the Consortium by fax 925-313-6798, by email to panderso@hsd.cccounty.us or by mail to HIV/AIDS Consortium, AIDS Program 597 Center Ave., Suite 200, Martinez, CA 94553. The deadline for submitting written comments is 4 p.m. July 11.

Why:

The Consortium will review public comments along with other information to finalize recommendations that will be forwarded to the Contra Costa County AIDS Program regarding priorities for the Ryan White CARE Act funding for the new program year that begins in March 2009.
