Public comment sought for capital facilities and technological needs proposal

Contra Costa Mental Health (CCMH) is currently seeking public comment on a proposal to explore new facility and technology needs to better support the mental health community. The proposal includes building a new multi-program mental health center, implementing an electronic medical record system and creating the ability to handle prescriptions online. During the community planning process, these were among the information technology improvements and capital facility development needs that were identified.


The Capital Facilities and Technological Needs Component Proposal and the public comment form are available on CCMH´s Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) page ( Copies of the proposal also are available at the CCHS Mental Health Administration offices, 1340 Arnold Drive, Suite 200, Martinez. The public also may request a copy of the plan be sent via mail by calling 925-957-5150.


Public comments must be received by Monday, January 12, 2009


Comments should be made in writing and forms can be hand delivered or mailed to 1340 Arnold Drive Suite 200, Martinez, CA 94553. The public can also send comments via email to or via fax to 925-957-5156. Comments may also be made at the Mental Health Commission´s public hearing at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2008 in the Concord Police Department´s Community Room, 1350 Galindo Street, Concord.


The Capital Facilities and Technological Needs Component is one of the MHSA components in which Contra Costa Mental Health is conducting an extensive community planning process to create an integrated mental health services system. California voters in November 2004 passed the MHSA, levying an additional 1% tax on individuals with taxable annual income of more than $1 million.
