What:

Contra Costa County Health Services' Hazardous Materials Program has issued a summary of the vapor cloud release at the Shell Martinez Refinery last night in which one worker was injured. There was no expected health impact related to the incident. Some Martinez residents near the refinery reported oil droplets on their vehicles.

When:

The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8. The vapor cloud release was stopped within an hour. A written report will be submitted by Shell to the Hazardous Materials Program within 72 hours.

Where:

The Shell Martinez Oil Refinery is located at 3485 Pacheco Blvd in Martinez.
