Injuries are a major cause of significant death and disability to children in the Contra Costa EMS system. The Contra Costa EMS for Children Program is active with numerous stakeholders in our community in supporting childhood injury prevention activities. Contra Costa Health Services Injury Prevention Project
Conducts classroom, bicycle and pedestrian safety presentations, walking events, helmet distribution and bike rodeos. Working to create a safer street and community environment for walking and bicycling.
Keeping Babies Safe
Keeping Babies Safe exists to provide leadership in keeping babies safe from preventable injuries and deaths associated with unsafe cribs, dangerous children's products and unsafe sleep environments.

California Poison Control
The California Poison Control System (CPCS) is a statewide provider of immediate, free and expert treatment advice and assistance over the telephone in case of exposure to poisonous, harzardous or toxic substances. Public information on poison prevention is available in a number of languages on their website.
